The City of Huntsville is sharing information on a grant opportunity received from Tegna, Inc. (Arby's Restaurant Group) and Points of Light. They are celebrating the annual national Make a Difference Day and offering $10,000 to the charities of choice of 13 winners who conduct projects on October 28 (or October 29 if for religious reasons), 2017.
"The purpose of this program is to recognize community improvement projects that are conducted on Make a Difference Day by providing monetary awards to nonprofit organizations
chosen by project award recipients," per the grant information sheet. "In 2017, Make a Difference Day, the largest day of national community service, will be held on October 28."
From the information the City received, it appears that any group or organization may apply. It says also that entry forms must be received by November 30, 2017 and must be submitted online at www.makeadifferenceday.com/start-a-project/.
